Dear WrestleMania…An Open Letter

I might not have been a huge fan anymore, but I still saw you every year. I had my dislikes, but I couldn’t deny that you still had the ability to create amazing moments. Angle vs. Shawn at 21 and Edge vs. Mick Foley at 22 both pulled me in only to have Cena push me back away shortly after. Then in 2008, a year after I graduated high school, Shawn and “The Nature Boy” reminded me how emotionally invested I could be in a wrestling match. I hadn’t been keeping up, I knew the two had a match, but I didn’t know Flair’s career was on the line. The video package got me hyped and the match was everything it was supposed to be and more. I slowly started to watch again, and by your 25th birthday I was genuinely excited to see you again. Then Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker proceeded to have the best match to ever take place on your prestigious stage, and I knew that it would be hard to stay away from then on.
