Dear WrestleMania…An Open Letter

The next year of my life was a bit turbulant, and I guess it was partly due to you. After watching you that night, Austin became my hero, and since I was just a child, I started to mimic him. I was 8 years old and cursed like a bald headed beer drinking red neck. Needless to say my parents weren’t too happy. Things only got worse when I got suspended from one school for fighting, then suspended from another one for using inappropriate language. My parents didn’t think Austin was a good influence on me, and sadly I wasn’t allowed to watch you when he finally took the top spot at XIV. In hindsight, I know now that my parents were just being parents, but at the time I was devastated. All my friends got to see you. You shared a special moment with them and all I could do was hear about it at school the next day. I’d get over it, and eventually the months would pass and “next year” would finally arrive.
