Batista has gone on record saying that he would be open to returning to WWE again under the right circumstances, but after his last run, I wouldn’t hold my breath. He declined an offer to be a part of WrestleMania 32 in 2016. Honestly, he doesn’t need WWE anymore. In August 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy opened worldwide to huge critical and commercial success, making Batista a hot commodity. He earned a roll in the 2015 James Bond film, Spectre, and reprise his role as Drax The Destroyer for the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy sequel in 2017, which opened with huge box office numbers. He’s also part of the cast for the new Blade Runner 2049 movie. He’s all over magazine covers. He’s got an endorsement deal with Monster Energy drinks for their new line Muscle Monster. Looks like WWE might have dropped the ball by lying to Batista during his last run. Maybe they didn’t expect Guardians of the Galaxy to be such a huge hit, and for Batista to be in such high demand. He’s not quite on The Rock‘s level yet, but he’s a bigger name than anyone they currently have on their roster, including John Cena. Being able to weave Batista in and out of the product like they do Chris Jericho, or at least have him make sporadic appearances like The Rock, would be a huge asset for the star obsessed WWE. Batista has come a long way since being told he’d never make it in the wrestling business. He joined the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and became a World Champion. Then, he ventured out on his own, “Batista Bombed” the world of Hollywood, and doesn’t seem to be looking back. A well deserved “Hollywood Ending.”
