Vince McMahon Announces New “Wild Card Rule” For RAW & SmackDown

As seen on last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW from The US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon opened the show and announced that there will now be a new Wild Card Rule that will see Monday Night RAW Superstars appear on SmackDown LIVE each week and SmackDown LIVE Superstars appear on Monday Night RAW as well.

Vince initially said that the idea of the new rule is that 3 SmackDown LIVE Superstars “could be invited” to appear on RAW each Monday night while 3 Monday Night RAW Superstars “could be invited” to appear on SmackDown LIVE every Tuesday night as well but he seemed to changed that ruling and made it 4 Superstars. Last night’s RAW saw Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Elias & Lars Sullivan appear from the blue brand but Vince mentioned during the show that Elias is not counted as he is with Shane McMahon.

There is no word yet on which Monday Night RAW Superstars may appear on tonight’s episode of SmackDown LIVE. AJ Styles teased that he may bring two of his friends to tonight’s SmackDown LIVE but Vince cut him off and said that the invites are not decided on ahead of time.

The Wild Card Rule on last night’s RAW led to two WrestleMania 35 rematches taking place as Roman Reigns took on Drew McIntyre & WWE Champion Kofi Kingston defended his WWE Title against Daniel Bryan.

Below are a few clips from last night’s opening RAW segment, which saw Vince brag about being a brilliant genius for thinking of The Wild Card Rule:
