Robert Roode Makes His Return On WWE SmackDown

Last night’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown from The Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana saw Robert Roode make his return to The Blue Brand.

The main event of the evening saw King Corbin & Dolph Ziggler defeat The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) via DQ following Roman Reigns’ attack on King Corbin at ringside following an earlier incident. There was also an interference from The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) on King Corbin’s behalf.

Roman Reigns went to put Corbin through the announce table but Roode attacked him from out behind. SmackDown went off the air with Reigns under a bunch of debris after Roode, Corbin & Ziggler put him through the announce table.

Back on December 10th, 2019, it was announced by The WWE that Robert Roode and Primo Colón had been suspended for 30 days due to their first violations of The WWE Wellness Policy. Roode’s suspension was up last night, which is why The WWE brought him back as soon as he was eligible. The storyline reason for Roode’s absence was the stretcher job beatdown that Reigns delivered on him back on The November 29th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. There had been some speculation on WWE keeping Roode out until The Royal Rumble Match later this month.
