Backstage News On The Arrest Angle Of Rousey, Lynch & Flair

Last Monday night’s episode of RAW, which was The Go-Home Show to this Sunday’s WrestleMania 35 PPV was a show that was mainly used to promote the top matches of The Grandest Stage Of Them All most especially The Winner Takes All Triple Threat Main Event Matchup for The RAW & SmackDown Women’s Titles between Becky Lynch, RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey & SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the segment that ended with Lynch, Flair & Rousey getting arrested by Washington D.C. Police was a collaborative effort of many different people giving their creative input.

WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon obviously had ideas for the angle as did all three of the women involved. Others who helped book the segment were Paul Heyman, Kevin Dunn & Marty Miller. It is no secret that Heyman has been working closely behind-the-scenes with Rousey and the creative for her Road To WrestleMania 35 storyline. Miller is a longtime WWE Camera Operator & Director, who also worked for The XFL. His Twitter bio says that he is The Director Of TV for NXT, RAW, SmackDown LIVE & Tough Enough.

The backstage part of the segment that saw the police cars being involved was reportedly taped before RAW went on the air and was edited. The Observer added that you could see some of the camera cuts if you looked closely. Below is a SmackDown LIVE video package that recapped the arrest angle:

Also, the unmarked & DC Police Cars that were brought to Baltimore, MD for SmackDown LIVE the next day was reportedly brought in on a flatbed truck. As seen on SmackDown LIVE, one of the cars was used for a quick segment that saw Becky Lynch get dropped off at the arena, sirens blaring, but that is all the cars were used for.
