As seen in the trailer below despite an official announcement not being made yet, it looks like RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch & Roman Reigns will be The WWE Superstars who are on the cover of this year’s WWE 2K20 video game.
The trailer below also features WWE Hall Of Famer “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan, WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin, WWE Hall Of Famer “The Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels, Braun Strowman, Sheamus, Monday Night RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman & NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream.
This past month, RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was asked about possibly being on the cover of this year’s WWE 2K20 video game and this is what she had to say: “[Being on the cover of WWE 2K20] would be the next step, wouldn’t it? Yeah it’s always about the next step and it’s always about being the first.” “‘The Man’ is synonymous with the first: the first main event of WrestleMania, the first main event of SmackDown, in the first women’s ladder match, in the first Royal Rumble, first SmackDown Live Women’s Champion. It’s all about being the first, so being the first woman on the cover of 2K20 would be awesome.”
Over the past few years, WWE had male Superstars on the cover of their 2K video games. WWE United States Champion AJ Styles was on the cover of WWE 2K19, Seth Rollins was on the cover of WWE 2K18, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar was on the cover of WWE 2K17, WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin was on the cover of WWE 2K16 and 16-time World Champion John Cena was on the cover of WWE 2K15.
Although women Superstars like WWE Hall Of Famers Chyna, Trish Stratus & Torrie Wilson were featured on WWE video game covers in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, there hasn’t been a woman Superstar on the cover of a WWE video game since SmackDown vs. RAW 2007.
RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will be defending her RAW Women’s Title against Natalya at this coming Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam PPV Event, while Roman Reigns is rumored to take on Daniel Bryan in a one-on-one match.
