Seth Rollins vs. Braun Strowman Reportedly Planned For Clash Of Champions

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio Program, the current plan for the main event of next month’s WWE Clash Of Champions PPV Event is for “The Beast Slayer” WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins to defend his WWE Universal Title against “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. We still have a long way to go before WWE holds their Clash Of Champions PPV Event and plans could change anytime from now till then but as of this week WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins defending his WWE Universal Title against Braun Strowman is the direction WWE is going.

Last Monday night’s episode of RAW from The Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada saw the return of Braun Strowman to WWE TV. Immediately following the end of The Champion vs. Champion Main Event Matchup between WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins & WWE United States Champion AJ Styles due to the interference of RAW Tag Team Champions Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson of The O.C., Seth Rollins was beaten down and destroyed by all three members of The O.C.

This would then lead to Ricochet making his way down to the ring to help Rollins fight off The O.C. Despite Ricochet’s help, The O.C. still got the advantage on Rollins & Ricochet. Braun Strowman would then make his return and lay waste to the entire O.C. This would then lead to WWE United States Champion AJ Styles issuing a challenge to Braun Strowman for his WWE United States Title on next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW from The Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. That match has since then been confirmed.

There is no word yet on how WWE plans to end up with WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins defending his WWE Universal Title against Braun Strowman at Clash Of Champions or if WWE will have Braun Strowman turn heel, but more information will be provided once it is made available. WWE Clash Of Champions is set to take place on Sunday, September 15th from The Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
