Long-Time ROH Announcer Ian Riccaboni has signed a new multi-year deal with the company, according to PWTorch.
Riccaboni’s previous contract was signed in April of last year, but he could have opted to sign with other promotions once his previous contract with the company expired. Ring Of Honor didn’t want that opportunity to take place as both WWE & AEW reportedly had interest in the announcer.
Even though ROH took an aggressive approach to re-signing him, Riccaboni’s preference was reportedly to stay with the company. After Kevin Kelly left Ring Of Honor to work full-time for NJPW in 2017, Riccaboni became the company’s lead announcer.
Riccaboni recently confirmed the report on Twitter, as seen below:
.@ringofhonor means the world to me; the wrestlers, the crew, and the fans. We’re a family.
I approached our office and producers about staying. They shared the same sentiment.
I am excited to announce that I signed a mult-year deal to stay with ROH. Happy wrestling, indeed!
