Linda McMahon has been nominated to serve as Secretary of Education under President Donald Trump. According to Post Wrestling, McMahon will face a confirmation hearing before the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee on Thursday.
Trump has previously expressed a desire to shut down the Department of Education and told Fox News that he hopes McMahon does such a good job that she “puts herself out of a job.” He also emphasized his belief that states should take control of running schools.
McMahon has worked closely with Trump in the past, serving as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration for two years during his first term. She is also the Chair of the Board for the America First Policy Institute, a nonprofit Republican think tank.
