SEScoops reports that attorneys for Janel Grant have filed a new claim, alleging that Dr. Carlon Colker and Peak Wellness withheld medical records. This follows a pre-action discovery petition filed in July 2024 as part of a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. In her claim, Grant asserts that McMahon directed her to visit the clinic in November 2019, where she received treatments, including IV infusions and pills, without knowing what they were. Colker has denied any wrongdoing, stating that the allegations have tarnished his reputation.
In a new filing submitted yesterday in Connecticut Superior Court, Grant’s attorneys claim that Colker’s counsel admitted McMahon funded Colker to be Grant’s doctor and that Peak Wellness withheld medical records. These same claims were included in Grant’s amended complaint.
This latest filing comes after Colker’s legal team submitted a supplemental filing on February 5, arguing that Grant’s bill of discovery should be dismissed due to non-compliance with Connecticut state statutes. They contend that Grant aimed to use the information to add Colker and Peak Wellness to her civil suit and that the documents in question were part of confidential settlement agreements. However, Grant’s attorneys argue that the settlements became irrelevant once Colker’s legal team filed the February 5 motion. They also assert that there is no state statute preventing discovery from state court being used in a federal case.
