Hulk Hogan’s 1982 Wrestling Card Sells for Record-Breaking $132,000

A historic milestone in sports memorabilia was reached this weekend when Hulk Hogan’s 1982 Wrestling All-Stars Series A card sold for a record-breaking $132,000 at Heritage Auctions.

This sale set a new benchmark for the most valuable wrestling card ever sold, surpassing the previous record of $126,000 held by The Rock’s 2022 Black Prizm 1/1 card. The Hogan card is graded PSA 9 Mint and is one of only 17 in existence, with no PSA 10 versions available.

The card is part of the 1982 Wrestling All-Stars Series A and B sets, which are regarded as the first standard American wrestling card sets ever produced. These sets were initially sold through mail order via “Wrestling News” magazine, with an estimated total production of just 2,000 sets.

The sale marks a dramatic rise in value, especially when compared to the last PSA 9 Hogan card, which sold for just $4,050 on eBay in April 2020.

Experts in the memorabilia industry have made comparisons between this card and other iconic sports cards, with David Peck, a well-known wrestling card collector, describing it as “the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle of wrestling cards.”
