John Cena is preparing for a retirement tour in 2025, set to span the entire year before he officially retires from in-ring competition. Cena previously revealed that the tour will include around 35 dates. So far, he has been confirmed for several major events, including the January 6th episode of RAW, the WWE Royal Rumble on January 27, and Elimination Chamber on March 1. According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (via Wrestling Inc.), Cena is expected to work most of WWE’s major shows in 2025.
Meltzer also predicted that Cena’s appearances will help elevate these events to even bigger draws, surpassing the already record-breaking success WWE is currently enjoying. Notably, Elimination Chamber, which would typically take place in a venue with a 20,000-seat capacity, will be held at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, which can accommodate up to 41,000 fans, further highlighting the significance of Cena’s involvement in WWE’s upcoming schedule.
Dave Meltzer said:
“He’s gonna be working most of the big shows this [upcoming] year. I think it’s 35, 40 dates. … Probably he’s going to run 35 different markets during 2025. And every one — or every one maybe except for New York, maybe he’ll do multiple shows — but most of those 35 are going to be ‘John Cena’s last time in…’ San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, whatever. That’s what the year is going to be — a whole bunch of farewells.“
