Former WWE Superstar CM Punk recently took to Twitter and joked about fans speculating on him signing with All Elite Wrestling. There has been some speculation on Punk making his debut for AEW at Double Or Nothing this coming Saturday night in Las Vegas, but Punk will reportedly be busy doing announcer work in Coachella, CA for The Cage Fury Fighting Championships MMA Event. The event will be airing on UFC Fight Pass and will be taking place at 6PM local time from Coachella, California, which is about 300 miles from Las Vegas.
Dave Meltzer reported on an April edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio Program that AEW President Tony Khan originally wanted CM Punk as the wrestler to start the company with. Meltzer also noted that Punk was Khan’s first pick for AEW, long before Chris Jericho or The Young Bucks. Below are CM Punk’s recent tweets, including his comment on AEW’s Luchasaurus:
