Backstage News on WWE Giving Longer Deals To New Talents

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, wrestlers who are being signed to new contracts for The NXT brand are now being given five-year deals. Wrestlers were only being given three-year deals when they previously signed new contracts for The NXT brand.

The report states that WWE’s idea is that they are trying to lock in talents for a long period of time before they will be eligible and available to try and work in different promotions as a free agent.

The report also states that WWE has been aggressively signing new talents to The NXT brand for more than a year now and it is believed that they will continue in signing new talents to The NXT brand from the indies and other promotions now that AEW and other promotions as well are also actively pursuing wrestlers to sign with them.
