Japanese Pro Wrestling Legend Atsushi Aoki recently passed away at the age of 41. According to Chris Charlton, Aoki’s death was a direct result of him having a motorcycle accident when he hit a wall as he was making a curve inside of a tunnel.

Aoki was the current reigning and defending AJPW Junior Heavyweight Champion, having won the title on four separate occasions, the most of any champion in the promotion’s history. He last won the title a few weeks ago and he was scheduled the defend the newly won title against Hikaru Sato on June 18th.
