It has been confirmed by multiple sources that the finish of The Winner Takes All Triple Threat Main Event Matchup at WrestleMania 35 between Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey and RAW & SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch went off as planned. Despite earlier speculations and rumors, there was no botched finish.
According to Sports Illustrated, the finish that saw Lynch pin Rousey was designed to protect Rousey and keep her character strong. The controversial finish would allow Rousey to claim that Lynch did not legitimately defeat her if and when she does return from her time-off.
Sports Illustrated also noted that WWE Officials reportedly have Rousey tentatively planned to face Lynch in a singles rematch at WrestleMania 36 on April 5th, 2020 from Tampa, Florida. Dave Meltzer added on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE Officials do want to do the rematch, but there is no date for her return yet and there is no date or plans confirmed for the rematch.
Rousey is expected to step away from WWE until then as she has been planning on having a child with Travis Browne for a while now. She will also need to recover from the broken hand that she suffered during the match while throwing punches.
