It was recently reported by PWInsider.com and Casey Michael Of Squared Circle Sirens that WWE has signed Top Indie Star Timothy Thatcher. There is no word yet on when Thatcher will be making his NXT debut, but he has reportedly started his training with the company under his developmental deal this week at The WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
In the past, Timothy Thatcher has reportedly turned down offers from the company, but has still remained on the radars of Canyon Cemen, WWE’s Senior Director Of Talent Development, and William Regal, WWE’s Director Of Talent Development and Head Of Global Recruiting.
Thatcher has competed for several wrestling promotions such as EVOLVE Wrestling, MLW, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, wXw and Revolution Pro. His signing was described as “tremendous” for The WWE.
Casey Michael also noted that at least one Indie Women’s Wrestler and one more male talent from The Indies have also signed with the company this week. The male talent, who should be confirmed soon, was described as a “long time coming” and that the signing “won’t shock anyone.” Updates on those signings will be provided once it is made available.
