Several talents are reportedly finishing up their time with TNA, including ring announcer Jade Chung, Rhino, KUSHIDA, and Trent Seven. Additional details about these departures were shared on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer indicated that more exits could be on the horizon, with pay cuts being a key factor. Meltzer explained,
“There may be more coming. One of the things that happened is a lot of the talent were asked to take pay cuts, I don’t know how many.”
He further mentioned that these pay cuts were “among the reasons” why Rhino decided to leave the company.
Jade Chung, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the year, is also part of the wave of departures. Meltzer added that while it’s not certain, her husband, Josh Alexander, may also be leaving, as his contract is expected to expire soon. However, Alexander is reportedly considering exploring free agency and may choose his next move based on the offers he receives.
KUSHIDA is likely to focus on NJPW going forward. Meltzer confirmed that the partnership between NJPW and TNA “looks” to be over for now, as KUSHIDA had been working under both a TNA and NJPW contract.
In addition, former Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace is expected to leave TNA when her current deal expires. Grace confirmed in July that her TNA contract would end in January 2025, and Meltzer speculated that she could make her way to WWE after that.
