Alexa Bliss made her long-awaited return to WWE at the Royal Rumble this past Saturday after a two-year hiatus. It was revealed that her return came together quickly, as her spot in the match was originally intended for Shotzi. Fightful Select has now provided additional details about the deal Bliss signed prior to her return.
According to their report, Bliss signed a new five-year contract with WWE, negotiated through her representatives at Paragon Talent, Dean Muhtadi and Steve Kaye. The deal was finalized on Saturday, and Bliss was flown in for the match that same day. Interestingly, the other talents in the match were unaware of her surprise appearance until she arrived.
WWE had prepared merchandise for Bliss’ return weeks before, as they had been planning her comeback. Sources within WWE revealed that Bliss had expressed interest in a new deal, while the company wanted her to continue working under her existing contract, which had remained active during her hiatus. Even if a new agreement hadn’t been reached (which it ultimately was), she still had time remaining on her original contract.
