Man Files Lawsuit Alleging Vince McMahon Stole His Ideas for WWE

A man has filed a new lawsuit against WWE and the UFC, alleging that Vince McMahon stole his ideas after entering into a “verbal agreement” with WWE. This follows a previous lawsuit filed by Leland Owens in September, where he claimed that he shared “ideas” with WWE’s Yakima Lower Valley branch in Washington but was never compensated for them. According to PWInsider, Owens refiled the lawsuit after earlier versions were dismissed for failing to properly address financial aspects.

The revised lawsuit, filed on November 4th, reiterates many of the same allegations made in the initial filing. One of the key claims involves comments allegedly made by Stephanie McMahon about Owens’ daughter, which he says led to a “hush money” offer from Daniel Bryan (listed by his WWE name in the suit, not as Bryan Danielson) and Mercedes Mone, both of whom Owens describes as acting on behalf of WWE.

The handwritten complaint further asserts that Owens shared his ideas directly with Vince McMahon, and he is now seeking $500 million in damages. The lawsuit was initially mailed on October 10th and officially recorded by the court on November 4th. WWE has yet to comment on the new claims.
