Kevin Nash recently shared his thoughts on a variety of topics during an episode of his Kliq This podcast (via Fightful). One of the key subjects he discussed was the competition between AEW and WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer expressed his belief that, in terms of posing a real threat to WWE’s dominance, the competition from AEW doesn’t quite compare to the challenge posed by WCW during the early 1990s. According to Nash, the rise of WCW in 1992 was a much more significant force in the industry than AEW is today.
Kevin Nash said:
“I talked to a very, very high-up WWE person, yes [Sean Oliver asked if he meant executive], and I won’t divulge his name. But I said to him, ‘I actually think that WCW in ‘92 was more of a threat to the WWE right now than AEW was, and he said, ‘Fuck, without a doubt.’”
