Several years ago WWE, and Triple H developed a plan to expand thier NXT brand to different countries.
The plan was to set up different Performance Centers all over the world and start an NXT brand there. The first one to open was in the UK. There have also been talks of opening one in Japan, but talks have stopped due the the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Dave Meltzer who reported on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newslette, right now nobody knows the status of the NXT UK. With the WWE currently downsizing there are questions about the brand considering it’s losing money.
WWE has canceled all TV tapings including NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
