Last Friday night’s ROH Best In The World PPV Event from The UMBC Event Center in Baltimore, Maryland saw Former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Eli Drake make a surprise appearance and announce that he has exclusively signed with The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). Eli Drake also teamed up with NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis to take on The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe) in Tag Team Action.
The original match at this past Friday night’s ROH Best In The World was supposed to be NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis & Colt Cabana taking on The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe) in Tag Team Action, but Colt Cabana recently suffered a hematoma on his quadriceps that forced him out of in-ring action. Aldis even announced before The PPV started that his new partner was someone who had exclusively signed with The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and that someone was Eli Drake.
Eli Drake previously worked for IMPACT Wrestling from 2015 up to April Of 2019. During his time in IMPACT Wrestling, he became a one-time IMPACT Wrestling World Champion, a TNA King Of The Mountain Champion, an IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Champion with Scott Steiner and he has won The Feast Or Fired Briefcase on two separate occasions. Eli Drake officially became a free agent earlier this month.
