Backstage News & Notes On Drake Maverick’s WWE 24/7 Title Loss

As previously reported, 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick lost The WWE 24/7 Title back to R-Truth right after he got married to Indie Star Renee Michelle this past Thursday. According to PWInsider.com, the idea for the title change to take place right after Maverick’s wedding ceremony was reportedly pitched by Maverick himself. The idea was reportedly loved by WWE Officials which is why they went through with it.

The report also states that the actual title change only happened after the official nuptials had already taken place. During the title change, the pastor was reportedly played by NXT Creative Team Member Joseph Belcastro. Other materials were also filmed after the actual title change had already taken place, but there is no word yet on if those footages will even be used.

It was also reported that EC3 was Drake Maverick’s best man, while Braun Strowman was Drake Maverick’s groomsman. Matt Hardy was also at Drake Maverick’s wedding ceremony with his family along with Jeremy Borash & Former IMPACT Wrestling Star Cheerleader Melissa. Other wrestling stars who were also in attendance include Tyson Kidd, Natalya, Diamante & Kiera Hogan. For those who missed it, you can check out the title change in the video below:
