AJ Styles has not been in active competition since losing to WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins at last month’s WWE Money In The Bank PPV Event. There was some sort of teaser at a backstage segment that took place last Monday night on RAW between AJ Styles, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. It was teased that Styles will be returning to in-ring action soon.
It seems that AJ Styles will be returning to in-ring action this coming week. Despite not being advertised for this weekend’s WWE Live Events, WWE has advertised Styles for next week’s Live Events in Asia, which is set to begin this coming Thursday in Singapore. He is also scheduled to compete at The WWE Show from Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan next Friday and Saturday.
AJ Styles is set to team up with WWE COO Triple H, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson on The Friday Show. He is also set to team up with WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins & Braun Strowman to take on the trio of Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin & Bobby Lashley at Saturday’s Show in Tokyo. Styles is also advertised for RAW Live Events following the tour in Asia.
Styles’ injury was announced by WWE on The May 27th episode of Monday Night RAW in which he was removed from a Fatal 4-Way #1 Contender’s Elimination Match against Braun Strowman, The Miz & Bobby Lashley where the winner moved on to WWE Super ShowDown in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and challenged Seth Rollins for The WWE Universal Title. Styles was replaced by Baron Corbin, who ended up winning the match but lost to Seth Rollins at WWE Super ShowDown. Corbin will now be facing Seth Rollins in a rematch for The WWE Universal Title this coming Sunday at WWE Stomping Grounds, with a special guest referee of his choosing that has yet to be announced.
