Matt Riddle Reportedly Not Expected To Move To The Main Roster For A Long Time

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio Program, “The Original Bro” Matt Riddle is expected to stay in NXT for a long time as WWE isn’t rushing to move him to the main roster anytime soon.

Riddle was originally expected to feud with NXT Champion Adam Cole, but after what took place during the most recent set of TV Tapings for The NXT brand, The NXT TakeOver: Toronto II card is shaping up in a different way.

At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV last August 18th, 2018, Matt Riddle made his first-ever appearance for The NXT brand. He then made his in-ring debut on The October 31st episode of NXT TV by defeating Luke Menzies. On November 17th, 2018 at The NXT TakeOver: WarGames II Event, Riddle challenged Kassius Ohno to a match and knocked him out in 6 seconds, marking the win as one of the fastest wins in NXT history.

Riddle maintained his undefeated streak until April Of 2019 where he lost to NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver: New York. Dave Meltzer previously mentioned that NXT Champion Adam Cole & NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler are two names that he always hears about being called up to the main roster.
