John Cena Debunks Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories

On the latest episode of Last Week Tonight, the show’s main topic was conspiracy theories regarding the coronavirus. Host John Oliver examined how fact can be distinguished from fiction and what can be done to help others in determining the truth.

Oliver closed the discussion with ways to talk to and potentially reach those who do believe in conspiracy theories, noting that experts say the best way isn’t to shame or overwhelm them with evidence but be empathetic, see them where they are and gently nudge them towards more critical thinking. To help the process, Oliver commissioned several videos from trustworthy public figures, including Alex Trebek, Paul Rudd, and John Cena.
