Update on Kofi Kingston’s Injury & WWE Status

It was previously reported that prior to WWE’s recent Live Event in Glens Falls, New York an announcement was made by WWE Champion Kofi Kingston that he is currently dealing with an injury. Due to the injury, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston did not compete on the show, but he did toss a few pancakes to the crowd and danced with the other two members of The New Day in Big E & Xavier Woods as they celebrated their win over The B-Team (Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel).

Kofi would also tell The WWE Universe that he was injured the night before at The WWE Live Event in Binghamton, New York, where he took on Dolph Ziggler in the main event of the show and won the match. Kofi then said that he would be ready for this coming Sunday’s WWE Extreme Rules PPV Event.

An update was recently provided by PWInsider.com in which it was stated that Kofi Kingston is currently dealing with back issues. That is the reason why Kofi Kingston was not put in any match last night on SmackDown LIVE and why he was not involved in anything physical as he is being given time to rest and heel up before his WWE Title defense against Samoa Joe at this coming Sunday night’s WWE Extreme Rules PPV Event.

There has been some rumors and speculations that a Ladder Match stipulation will be added to The WWE Title Match between WWE Champion Kofi Kingston & Samoa Joe at WWE Extreme Rules this coming Sunday night, but there is no word yet on if an announcement will be made soon as Kofi Kingston’s injury may be preventing that from happening. More information and updates will be provided on the match and Kofi Kingston’s status once it is made available.
