Speculation On John Cena’s WWE WrestleMania 35 Match

There are rumors circulating online that 16-time World Champion John Cena will be involved somehow in The WWE United States Title Picture at WrestleMania 35, possibly in a Singles Match against New WWE United States Champion Samoa Joe.

Last Tuesday night on SmackDown LIVE, Samoa Joe defeated Former WWE United States Champion R-Truth, Rey Mysterio & Andrade in a Fatal 4-Way Match to win The WWE United States Title. R-Truth would lose the title during a WWE United States Title Open Challenge, which was created by John Cena and R-Truth has been name-dropping John Cena a lot during his recent promos, even talking about how he wanted to make John Cena proud and how he wanted to be like John Cena.

The feeling backstage is that Joe’s post-match interview with Kayla Braxton after capturing The WWE United States Title was teasing some sort of showdown with Cena somewhere down the line. You can check out that promo in the video below:

Cena’s status for WrestleMania 35 has been in question as of late because there is no match planned for him after the originally planned match between him and Lars Sullivan fell apart due to Lars Sullivan’s questionable status. WWE usually should have matches for Top Stars like John Cena & The Undertaker locked in by now, but this year has been different. John Cena is currently in Vancouver filming The “Playing With Fire” Movie but he recently announced that he will be doing an “Elbow Grease” Book Signing in New York City during WrestleMania 35 Weekend, confirming that he will be somewhere in the area during the biggest weekend of the year.
