According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Undertaker’s upcoming in-ring return at next month’s WWE Extreme Rules PPV Event was planned even before his match against WWE Hall Of Famer Bill Goldberg at WWE Super ShowDown took place earlier this month. The Phenom is set to team up with Roman Reigns as they go against the duo of Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre.
It was speculated that one of the main reasons for The Undertaker returning to in-ring action so soon following his match against WWE Hall Of Famer Bill Goldberg at WWE Super ShowDown earlier this month was due to the match being a disaster after Goldberg suffered a concussion minutes into the match and performed one botch move after the other. It was also speculated by WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T on his podcast earlier this week that the reason for The Phenom returning so soon to in-ring action is to get the “bad taste” out of his mouth.
This is what WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T said: “No one thought that they would see The Undertaker this soon after Super ShowDown, in what we would call, ‘the incident’.” “No one thought we would see him this soon, but me personally, I think Undertaker was thinking, ‘Man, I gotta go get this bad taste out of my mouth. I gotta get rid of it and do something to make me forget.'”
It was previously reported that an article from Sports Illustrated mentioned that The Undertaker reportedly gave a list of WWE Superstars he wanted to face in his next match following the events that took place at WWE Super ShowDown in which his match against WWE Hall Of Famer Bill Goldberg was strongly criticized and Drew McIntyre was one of those names, but it was indicated on a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it is not the case.
WWE Extreme Rules is set to take place on Sunday, July 14th from The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
