Mike Bailey is reportedly on his way out of TNA and is expected to sign with AEW following the expiration of his contract. Fightful Select has confirmed that Bailey, who wrapped up his time with TNA after his contract ended, is anticipated to make his AEW debut in the near future.
Sources close to Bailey and others within TNA have suggested that AEW is the likely destination for the former X-Division Champion. Notably, TNA officials stated that if Bailey were headed to WWE or NXT, there would have been no need to write him off television, further hinting at his departure from the company.
PWInsider also reported that Bailey’s contract officially expired on November 1, and he was not present for the recent Impact TV tapings in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Instead, Bailey was booked for indie events in Washington State. Fightful Select added that Bailey’s profile was recently removed from the TNA website, marking the end of his tenure with the company. His final appearance took place during the recent tapings in Detroit, where sources indicate he said emotional goodbyes to his colleagues backstage.
Bailey’s departure from TNA comes after signing with the promotion in 2021, and he had been a regular on their TV programming until now. His exit has already sparked interest from multiple promotions, with both WWE and AEW reportedly eyeing the talented star. Bailey, who has previously worked with WWE in the past, is well-liked in the wrestling industry, and there’s a strong chance that he will be pursued by top companies for his services.
Although Bailey continues to appear on some TNA advertising flyers, there are currently no official plans for his future involvement with the company. He’s expected to appear at several upcoming events, including WrestleCade in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as well as Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport and WrestleCon.
With his departure from TNA now confirmed, fans will be watching closely to see where the “Speedball” will land next.
