Jon Moxley who is currently the AEW World Champion and will defend his title against Orange Cassidy at AEW Full Gear recently opened up about the profound impact his wife, Renee Paquette, has had on his life, declaring her his “MVP.” In a candid interview with Authority Magazine, Moxley revealed that he believes he might not even be alive today if it weren’t for her support and presence in his life.
Moxley emphasized the importance of having someone like Renee by his side, highlighting how her unwavering encouragement and understanding have helped him navigate both personal and professional challenges. He described their relationship as a vital source of strength, particularly during difficult times in his career and life.
Their bond, he noted, has been instrumental in keeping him grounded and focused. Moxley’s heartfelt acknowledgment of Renee not only showcases the depth of their connection but also sheds light on the personal struggles he has faced, making it clear that having the right partner can make all the difference.
I’ve been fortunate enough to learn from a diverse array of the best minds in the business,” Moxley said. “I’ve had so many amazing teachers and, since I’m of the mind that we have 2 ears but only one mouth, think it’s wise to listen more than you talk. However, If I had to give out an MVP trophy for the profound difference maker in my life it would unquestionably go to my wife, Renee Paquette, hands down. I might very well be dead had our paths never crossed.”
“I was lucky enough to meet her right as I was starting to realize some material success, so that was a bit of a crossroads where I could have easily veered down a more destructive path. Now I had something ACTUALLY valuable, I had this person. As it was, I still almost destroyed my entire life so thankfully, she’s been here to be the linchpin holding the whole damn thing together.”
