Becky Lynch completed her WWE obligations just before her contract expired on June 1st. She lost the Women’s World Title to Liv Morgan at the King and Queen of the Ring event, and her final match took place two nights later on Raw, where she faced Morgan in a steel cage.
On a recent episode of Backstage Pass, Jonathan Coachman mentioned a rumor that Lynch was reportedly asking for a salary of $2 million per year, but that WWE didn’t agree to the demand. He suggested that if the deal had been accepted, Lynch would have already been back on the show.
However, sources close to the situation have since debunked this claim. According to Fightful, those familiar with the negotiations say Lynch and WWE maintain a positive relationship, with the company fully respecting her decision to take a break. Furthermore, they indicated that if Lynch had wanted to sign a new deal before her hiatus, WWE would likely have agreed.
The $2 million salary rumor was also denied by sources, who clarified that Lynch never requested that amount. In fact, they pointed out that Lynch’s contract would be valued far higher than $2 million annually, and WWE would have readily accepted an offer in that ballpark if it had been made.
