Brock Lesnar Quits WWE SmackDown This Past Friday Night

This past Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown from The KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York saw Paul Heyman open up the show and announce that WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has quit The Blue Brand.

According to the storyline, Paul Heyman & WWE Champion Brock Lesnar approached WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon and requested that he give Brock Lesnar a match with Rey Mysterio to get payback for the steel chair attack Rey Mysterio gave to Brock Lesnar after Lesnar defeated Cain Velasquez in quick fashion in their WWE Title Match at WWE Crown Jewel this past Thursday then continued his beatdown on Velasquez after the match.

Heyman then said that Vince McMahon did not agree to a match featuring WWE Champion Brock Lesnar & Rey Mysterio and said that the match is not possible to be booked as Friday Night SmackDown Superstars are contractually exclusive to FOX, while Monday Night RAW Superstars are contractually exclusive to The USA Network and since Lesnar is a Blue Brand Superstar, while Mysterio is a Red Brand Superstar, the match can’t be booked.

Heyman then announced that Lesnar has now quit Friday night SmackDown and will be going to Monday Night RAW in Long Island, New York to hunt Rey Mysterio down.

There is no word yet on what The WWE has planned with this new storyline for Brock Lesnar or where they are going with this in the long run, but it could have something to do with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt becoming The WWE Universal Champion and bringing The WWE Universal Title to Friday Night SmackDown after defeating The Former WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins for The WWE Universal Title at Crown Jewel this past Thursday.

Friday Night SmackDown Announcer Michael Cole said on commentary prior to the main event of this past Thursday’s WWE Crown Jewel that if “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt wins The WWE Universal Title then he would bring The WWE Universal Title with him to Friday Night SmackDown.
