It was recently announced by WWE that Big E will be returning to in-ring action on tonight’s episode of SmackDown LIVE from The Golden1 Center in Sacramento, California as he will be teaming up with fellow New Day members WWE Champion Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods to go up against the trio of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Dolph Ziggler in a blockbuster Six-Man Tag Team Main Event Matchup.
In mid-April, Big E underwent knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus shortly after suffering the injury at WrestleMania 35. He would return to WWE TV on The May 21st episode of SmackDown LIVE, but he did not compete and was in a backstage injury angle that wrote him off WWE TV once again.
Big E did make the trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for WWE Super ShowDown, but he did not accompany WWE Champion Kofi Kingston with Xavier Woods for his WWE Title Match against Dolph Ziggler. Big E did appear though in a backstage segment with Xavier Woods & WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.
A timetable was never announced or given by WWE on Big E’s return, but the usual recovery time for a torn meniscus is about 4-6 weeks, and as long as 3 months. Below is a promo for tonight’s episode of SmackDown LIVE from The Golden1 Center in Sacramento, California:
