Backstage Update on AJ Styles’ Injury & WWE Status

It was previously reported that Monday Night RAW Superstar AJ Styles was removed from a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match against Braun Strowman, The Miz & Bobby Lashley with the winner moving on to Super Showdown to face WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins for The WWE Universal Title due to an injury. AJ Styles was replaced by Baron Corbin, who ended up winning the match.

Earlier in the broadcast, AJ Styles appeared in a backstage segment with Charly Caruso and said that he felt his back pop during his recent Money In The Bank loss to WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins, which was the last time he wrestled. Styles was then dropped by Baron Corbin in the same backstage segment, but that is the only physical action he saw on RAW. When asked how long he will be out of action, Styles said that he still has more tests that needs to be done.

There has been some speculation going around that AJ Styles’ injury is a work, but apparently he has been working hurt. According to PWInsider, it has been said backstage on Monday Night RAW that Styles is “banged up” but there is no word yet on the nature of his injury beyond that. More information will be provided on AJ Styles’ injury and status once it becomes available. You can check out the segment involving AJ Styles & Baron Corbin from last night’s RAW in the video below:
