Sports Illustrated recently released an article previewing this coming Monday’s episode of RAW which is The Go-Home Show to the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules PPV Event. According to the article, two huge main event matches will be taking place on RAW this coming Monday night.
The first match will see The WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins & RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch team up to take on the duo of Andrade & Zelina Vega and the second match will see Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre take on the team of Roman Reigns and a partner of Shane McMahon’s choosing with a stipulation that if The Undertaker interferes in the match, he will be removed from their tag team match at Extreme Rules.
The same article also included a report of how happy The WWE Officials were with this past Monday night’s episode of RAW, which was the first show that Paul Heyman began his new role as the brand’s Executive Director. Sports Illustrated also indicated that WWE Officials were “immensely pleased” with the “pacing, tone, and essence” of this past Monday night’s RAW, most especially WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.
It was previously reported that Paul Heyman was not 100% in charge of RAW this past Monday night, but that his “fingerprints” were all over the show. Two segments that took place on RAW this past Monday night were confirmed to be Paul Heyman’s ideas. One of which was the stage explosion segment that featured Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley and the second was the segment that featured Maria Kanellis berating Mike Kanellis and revealing to The WWE Universe that she is pregnant. The appearance by NXT Tag Team Champions The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) was also believed to be a Paul Heyman idea.
As days, weeks and months pass by, both Paul Heyman and SmackDown LIVE Executive Director Eric Bischoff are expected to get more involved with their respective shows and ease into their roles. There was a report that indicated that Bischoff will really get started on his role as The Executive Director of SmackDown LIVE on the first SmackDown LIVE after the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules PPV Event, which will be on July 16th. The report also stated that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff will continue to report directly to Vince McMahon, who will always have the final say. According to the report, Bischoff will also be working closely with FOX Officials once SmackDown LIVE moves to their network on Friday, October 4th.
