New WWE United States Champion Named on Monday Night RAW

Last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW from The Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas saw Rey Mysterio relinquish The WWE United States Title and hand it over to Samoa Joe due to him having a shoulder injury. Mysterio suffered the injury during his WWE United States Title Match against Samoa Joe at last month’s WWE Money In The Bank PPV.

The match at Money In The Bank saw Mysterio win with a controversial pin and it being cut short due to Samoa Joe having a busted open nose. The segment during last night’s RAW also saw Mysterio warn Joe that he will be coming back for The WWE United States Title as well as Samoa Joe attacking Rey Mysterio and locking him in The Coquina Clutch.

Due to Mysterio handing over The WWE United States Title to Samoa Joe during last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Joe is now a two-time WWE United States Champion. You can check out Mysterio relinquishing The WWE United States Title and handing it over to Samoa Joe in the videos below:
