Fightful Select reports that AEW star and former TNT Champion Adam Copeland is expected to make his return to action in AEW very soon. According to the report, Copeland’s comeback is anticipated to happen “imminently.”
Copeland has been sidelined since suffering a broken leg during his Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match with Malakai Black at AEW Double or Nothing 2024. However, he was cleared for training several weeks ago, and many within AEW are expecting him to return by the January 1 edition of Dynamite in Asheville, North Carolina, at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center, as he currently resides in the area.
Fightful also notes that AEW plans to make the January 1 Dynamite a significant event, as it will be the first simulcast episode airing on both TBS and Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max streaming service. In addition, FTR has already issued a challenge for that episode, promising they won’t be coming alone. Given their well-known friendship with Copeland, sources believe it’s likely he’ll make an appearance on the show.
