According to a recent report on Wrestling Observer Radio, as shared by Wrestling Inc., Dave Meltzer revealed that AEW is currently interested in signing Matt Cardona to a full-time contract. This news comes ahead of Cardona’s highly anticipated match against Chris Jericho at ROH Final Battle on Friday. Although Cardona has made several sporadic appearances in AEW over the past few years, he has yet to sign any formal deal with the company. The interest in securing him could signal a potential new chapter in his career as he continues to make waves in the professional wrestling world.
Dave Meltzer said:
“There was at least talk of Cardona getting an AEW contract. I don’t know if it’s gonna happen or not, or if he’s already agreed. And I guess we’ll find out, obviously, if he beats Jericho. Which I don’t expect to happen, but if he does, obviously, they won’t do it unless he’s under contract.“
Matt Cardona would be a really good signing for them, they just need to do a better job of using their talent though.
