According to F4WOnline.com, “Bullet” Bob Armstrong wrestled in a match that was billed to be the final match of his career this past weekend in Pensacola, Florida at the age of 79. Several members of Bob Armstrong’s family were present at the show, including his son and soon-to-be WWE Hall Of Famer, Brian “Road Dogg” B.G. James, who according to his wife introduced Armstrong to the ring.

Armstrong, who’s real name is Joseph Melton James, has held championship gold in NWA over 55 times. He has worked in promotions such as All Pro Wrestling, Superstars Of Wrestling & Combat Sport Pro.

Armstrong, a member of The WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2011, has reportedly worked retirement shows in the past. He went into semi-retirement in The 1990s but continued to make occasional indie appearances, and made sporadic appearances for IMPACT Wrestling over the years. He wrestled a retirement match in May Of 2009, but then came out of retirement the next year to face longtime rival “Cowboy” Bob Orton. His last known match which was billed as his farewell bout before this past weekend’s show was a 6-Man Tag Team Match in October of last year for Georgia Premier Wrestling where he teamed up with Ernest Miller & Glacier. You can check out some of the classic matches and moments from Armstrong’s career below along with a tweet sent out by his son’s wife:
