Bret Hart would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 1, 2006, and despite attending the ceremony, he chose to skip WrestleMania the next night. Hart would finally bury the hatchet with Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels, and WWE in late 2009. He would make his triumphant return to the company he helped build on the January 4, 2010 episode of Monday Night Raw. The live crowd erupted into cheers for The Hitman, after everything that had happened and even after all the time that had passed they had never forgotten him.
