Macho Man Randy Savage: Unique Madness

Unlike many former WWF stars, Savage never returned after WCW closed. Many people have speculated why Vince McMahon would have zero interest in bringing back one of his most lucrative and iconic acts. There’s rumors that Savage was involved in an affair with a 17 year old Stephanie McMahon while still with the WWF, and that when Vince found out he was furious. Whatever the case, Savage never made a return. His final appearances in pro wrestling came as a part of TNA Wrestling. At Victory Road 2004 Macho Man Randy Savage would make his TNA debut confronting Jeff Jarrett. He would enter a feud with Jarrett, and team with “The PhenomenalAJ Styles and Jeff Hardy at Turning Point 2004 to face Jarrett, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash. Savage would be “missing” for most of the match, but showed up at the end to pick up the pin fall on Jarrett. It wasn’t the real Macho Man. It was an old broken down version of him. He was dressed in all black and looked to be out of his element, even for the short period time that he actually did anything. It would be the last time fans saw him inside a ring. Savage had been booked to win the NWA Heavyweight Title from Jarrett, but he retired from wrestling before that could happen.
